In Belgium, each company falls under a particular Joint Committee (Paritair Comité – Commission Paritaire) in which agreements are made. Collective labour agreements applicable in that specific sector must therefore be respected, as must regional, national and EU legislation applicable to personnel management. In certain cases, it is appropriate or mandatory to conclude a collective labour agreement at company level. A regular check of your employment contracts and work regulations is also recommended.
